NOTE: Trade awaits the US Department of Agriculture's monthly supply/demand report on Tuesday.
CBOT December futures contracts expire on Friday.
WHEAT - Down 3 to 4 cents per bushel
* Lower on technical selling and profit-taking after Friday's six-week high in the CBOT March contract. Optimism about improving export demand for US wheat underpins values.
* CBOT reported 47 deliveries against the expiring December soft red winter wheat futures contract and three K.C. hard red winter wheat deliveries. There were zero deliveries against MGEX December spring wheat futures.
* CBOT March wheat last traded down 3-1/2 cents at $5.27-3/4 per bushel. K.C. March hard red winter wheat was down 3-1/4 cents at $5.08-3/4 a bushel and MGEX March spring wheat was down 4-1/2 cents at $5.77.
CORN - Down 1 to 2 cents per bushel
* Corn lower but rangebound, taking cues from declines in soybeans and corn. News of sizable fresh US export sales to Mexico may lend support.
* The USDA said private exporters sold 1,104,900 tonnes of US corn to Mexico for delivery in the 2018/19 marketing year and another 541,020 tonnes to Mexico for delivery in 2019/20.
* CBOT reported 585 deliveries against the expiring December corn contract.
* CBOT March corn last traded down 1-1/2 cents at $3.84 per bushel.
SOYBEANS - Down 3 to 3 cents per bushel
* Soybeans lower in rangebound trade, awaiting news about US-China trade relations and any sign of fresh export demand.
* Unless US-China trade talks wrap up successfully by March 1, new tariffs will be imposed, US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said on Sunday, clarifying there is a "hard deadline" after a week of seeming confusion among President Donald Trump and his advisers.
* The CBOT reported zero deliveries against its December soymeal futures contract. There were 448 deliveries against December soyoil futures.
* CBOT January soybeans last traded down 3-3/4 cents at $9.25-1/4 a bushel.
