Yasir Shah inches closer to breaking 80-year-old record

Pakistan leg spinner Yasir Shah is just two wickets shy of becoming the fastest bowler to reach the 200 wickets mark.

The leggie dismissed three New Zealand batsmen in the ongoing Test cricket match, on day one of the third and final Test in Abu Dhabi on Monday. Yasir now has 198 wickets in his 33rd Test, just two shy of Australian leg-spinner Clarrie Grimmett's world record 200 wickets, which he achieved in 36 Tests way back in 1936.

The leg-spinner dismissed opener Jeet Raval on 45, bowled Ross Taylor for nought with his next ball and then trapped Henry Nicholls for one before New Zealand reached 73-4 at lunch at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

At the lunch break Kane Williamson was unbeaten on 21 and with him Bradley-John Watling was not out on duck as they tried to repair the damage after winning a crucial toss on a grass-less pitch.
