Shahid Afridi sees ‘Pakistan’s greatest’ in Yasir Shah

Pakistan former captain and leg spin all-rounder Shahid Afridi has stated that Yasir Shah is one his way to become the country’s best spin bowler.

“Sensational bowling performance by Yasir Shah today! What a champion, a dream day for the leg-spinner. He's on the road to become Pakistan's greatest ever spin bowler,” tweeted Shahid Afridi.

The statement from the leg spinner comes after Shah grabbed the career best figures of 8 wickets for 41, as the leggie destroyed the New Zealand batting line on Monday, in one of the most lethal Test bowling displays in recent memory.

The third day of the all important second Test would be a day to remember for the leggie after New Zealand, which were looking solid at 50/0 at one stage, were left flabbergasted when Yasir came to party and he single-handedly destroyed the opposition.

The leggie kept on taking wickets at regular intervals until the Kiwis were knocked out for a score of 90. Yasir’s career best figures allowed skipper Sarfraz Ahmed to enforce a follow on, as Pakistan looked to seal the second Test.
