Ganguly reveals rib tickling encounter with Pervez Musharraf over Dhoni

The Indian cricket team tour of Pakistan back in 2006, has remained one of the highlights of the two teams cricketing history. It was especially memorable for Indian wicket keeper batsman MS Dhoni, who won the admiration of then Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf.

Talking about the tour, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has revealed about his encounter with Musharraf who admired the then 25 years old. “I still remember Pervez Musharraf asking me from where did you get him?”

“I told him he was walking near the Wagah border and we pulled him in’,” Ganguly said in a lighter note, quoted Hindustan Times.

Talking about MS Dhoni recent decline of form, the former Indian captain called Dhoni a ‘champion’ however, he opined that one needs to be at the top of their game, in order to guard their place.

“Just like everyone else he has to perform. There’s one must in life: whatever job you do, wherever you are, whatever age you have, how much experience you have, you have to keep performing at the top level otherwise someone else will take your place,” Ganguly said.

When asked about his take on the 2019 World Cup lineup, Ganguly said: “I am not a selector but I expect 85-90 percent of the current team will play in the World Cup.”
