WTO to approve unilateral trade concession likely

Published Updated

An official in the Ministry of Commerce told APP here on Tuesday that WTO Goods Council would meet on February 1 (Wednesday), at its headquarters to consider the trade concession for Pakistan.

It is expected that the committee would give the approval for exporting about 75 items from Pakistan to European Union markets which would help to boost exports from the country.

He informed that the draft waiver sent by EU to Council of Trade and Goods of WTO is expected to be passed unanimously in its meeting.

Some countries including India and Bangladesh have shown their concerns over granting the trade concession to Pakistani goods by EU, which were addressed, he added.
