RECORDER REPORT: KSE close of day

The market opened on positive note and the index hit 11,975.94 points intra-day high on the back of foreign investors support. The offshore investors were net buyers of share worth $2.24 million. However, the local investors opted for profit taking in late hours that dropped the index into negative zone at 11,872.03 points intra-day low level.

Trading activities also remained low as the volumes at ready counter declined to 60.176 million shares as compared to 67.056 million shares traded on Monday. Total market capitalization reduced by Rs 2 billion to stand at Rs 3.083 trillion. Of the total 321 active stocks, 117 closed in negative and 98 in positive while the value of 106 scrips remained unchanged.

Jahangir Siddiqui Co was the volume leader with 6.229 million shares and gained Re 0.27 to close at Rs 5.57. Azgard Nine inched up by Rs0.24 to close at Rs 3.40 with 4.127 million shares.

In the fertilizer sector, Fauji Fertilizer Co and Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim declined by Re 0.13 and Re 0.25 to close at Rs 186.95 and Rs 46.11 with 3.284 million shares and 3.254 million shares respectively while Fatima Fertilizer Co increased by Re 0.52 to close at Rs 21.94 with 1.791 million shares.

DG Khan Cement gained Rs 0.20 to close at Rs 23.19 with 2.670 million shares. Bank Al Falah lost Rs 0.16 to close at Rs 12.20 with 2.135 million shares. Lotte Pakistan PTA decreased by Re 0.05 to close at Rs 8.34 with 2.025 million shares. Pace (Pak) inched up by Re 0.06 to close at Rs 1.52 with 1.905 million shares. Dewan Salman lost Re 0.14 to close at Rs 1.29 with 1.807 million shares.

Indus Dyeing and National Refinery were the highest gainers increasing by Rs 14.40 and Rs 6.13 to close at Rs 368.72 and Rs 242.94 respectively while Nestle Pakistan and Clariant Pakistan were the worst losers declining by Rs 50.91 and Rs 6.66 to close at Rs 3177.74 and Rs 151.06 respectively.
