Karachi Transport Ittehad calls off proposed strike for Jan 31

A statement here on Monday said that the announcement to this effect was made at an emergency meeting held at the office of the Sindh Transport Minister, Akhtar Hussain Jadoon.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Transport, Mukhtar Soomro, DIG Traffic, Irshad Bukhari, president of KTI, its secretary Mahmood Afridi and other transporters.
The statement said that the Minister assured the delegation that action would be taken against the motorcycle rickshaws plying illegally in the city. These would be barred from the main thoroughfares and would be confined to the link roads only.
The president of KTI Irshad Bukhari on the occasion announced calling off the proposed strike.
