This he said while talking to newsmen after a meeting with Pakistan Railways (PR) officials here on Monday. He said the committee has visited the Railways divisional headquarters to get first hand knowledge about the encroached land and also inspected the sites to make an effective strategy. To a question he said that 20,340 acre of Railways land is encroached by land grabbers country wide, of which 430 acre exists in Karachi. About illegal utilization of Railways land by government departments, he said that the committee is holding meetings with concerned departments to settle the issue. He said all resources would be used to free the land from encroachers. To another question, the convener said that in some cases employees of railway were found involved in land grabbing. Earlier, D.S.PR Karachi Aftab Memon and Additional General Manager Anjum Pervez briefed the committee on the issue. The committee will hold its meeting at the office of Station Master, Hyderabad Railway Station on January 31.
