Deadly car bomb hits Syria checkpoint: activists

Published Updated

"A car bomb exploded at a security checkpoint in the entrances of the city of Idlib," causing deaths and injuries among personnel, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement received in Nicosia.

The attack comes less than a week after a roadside bomb killed 11 detainees being transported in a Syrian prison truck in Idlib province.

Elsewhere, Syrian forces raided the rebel city of Homs, where dozens have been killed in the past 24 hours, as Western and Arab nations rush to unveil a draft UN resolution that would condemn the deadly crackdown.
