KARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Imran Ismail here on Thursday was briefed about the ongoing investigations in the province regarding financial irregularities, corruption, misuse of authority and nepotism.

Director General of National Accountability Bureau, Karachi office Altaf Bawany apprised Imran Ismail about the measures being adopted by the office against the accused individuals and officials with focus on getting exposed their wrongdoing, if any, on basis of concrete proofs.

Sindh Governor said abuse of public funds have emerged to be a core issue leading to series of crimes and the PTI government accords top priority to combat the menace encompassing misappropriation of public money, partisanship, inequity, abuse of authority and extravagance.

"The government is keen to turn NAB and all other relevant institutions truly empowered and efficient," he said reiterating that state money and funds have to be secured in public interest.
