He said that modern transport system had been introduced in the provincial metropolis and its scope would soon be extended to other big cities as well. He said that work was also inprogress on the project of Bus Rapid Transit System and Turk experts were soon reaching Lahore for implementation of the project. Shahbaz Sharif said that the government had fulfilled its promise by providing modern buses to the people of Lahore and now 575 more buses were being imported which in addition to Lahore, would be plied in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Bahawalpur. He directed that the LC should immediately be opened for acquiring the buses so that more buses could be plied in the cities in accordance with the schedule. The chief minister said that the Punjab government considering for setting up of its own CNG pumps for supply of CNG to public transport and CNG pumps of City District Government could be allocated for this purpose initially.
