PM urges strong trade ties with Sudan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said Pakistan desires to strengthen its relations with Sudan

In a meeting with Aleem Adil Sheikh, Honourary Consul of Sudan in Karachi, the Prime Minister called upon the exchange of business delegations and referred to the recent visit of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation to Khartoum.

He appreciated the services of Aleem Adil Sheikh for serving as a link to further boost the exiting commercial and economic relations between the two countries.

The Prime Minister said he would again meet the Consul during his visit to Karachi to know more about how to increase cooperation between the two countries in multi-faceted dimensions.

Aleem Adil Sheikh said there was a great potential for the farmers of Pakistan to go to Sudan and use their expertise to cultivate the vast land.

He said the Pakistani farmers could develop their agriculture sector there and thus help the brotherly country to the road of progress and self-reliance.

Gilani said the Prime Minister's visit to Sudan would enhance immense goodwill in that country because both the countries enjoy cordial and fraternal relations.
