ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has received $ 648 million from external sources during the current fiscal year from July 2011 to January 2012.

According to the data available with Business Recorder, the Asian Development Bank has remained the major foreign assistance provider by disbursing $341.2 million during the first seven months of the current fiscal year. The data shows that the World Bank was the second major foreign assistance provider to Pakistan during the current fiscal year by disbursing $142.5 million. The data shows that USA has disbursed $43.5 million to Pakistan from July 2011 to till date.

Islamic Development Bank (IDB) disbursed 35.4 million dollars, Australia $11.7 million, UK $10.9 million and from the United Nations (UN), Pakistan received $10.8 million.

The data reveals that Norway has released $2.7 million, European Union (EU) $10.5 million, Saudi Arabia $1.07 million, Spain 2.8 million dollars, Sweden $7.7 million, Switzerland 0.1million dollars and the Core Assistance provided to Pakistan including the Emergency Response Fund (ERF) and UN-FEW (Extended Funding Window) remained $9.7 million.

Belgium provided the foreign assistance of $0.67 million, Canada $2.83 million, China $0.46 million, France dollars 0.64 million, Germany 1.002 million dollars and International Private Donors released $01.08 million to Pakistan from July 2011 to January 2012.

The data reveals that Ireland has disbursed $3.04 million, Italy 1.5 million dollars, Japan 5.0 million dollars, Luxembourg 0.85 million dollars, and Netherlands 1.0 million dollars to Pakistan during the first seven months of the current fiscal year.
