B-Town’s fixation with recreating classic hits is increasing with every movie release and the recent song that has made it to list of remakes with the not-so-needed Bollywood flavor is none other than Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s ever green ‘Halka Halka Suroor’.

Makers of ‘Fanney Khan’ have released the film’s second song ‘halka halka’, which features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is playing the role of a superstar singer Baby Singh in the movie. The film also features Rajkummar Rao, who is playing the innocent kidnapper who is in love with Singh.

The song ‘Halka Halka’ has been composed by Amit Trivedi. Although Sunidhi Chauhan has lent her voice for the song, along with Divya Kumar, the singers have failed to live up to the original level of the song.

Twitterattis immediately reacted to the remake and shared their opinion. Where there were some good comments, there were some bad comments too.

The new rendition of Nusrat’s iconic qawwali is more like a Bollywood party song with a heavy bass. Even Ash is not the saving grace of the song, the actress is looking gorgeous in the song’s video, grooving to the beats of the song.

The duo (Ash and Rajkummar) is seen having fun and sharing some romantic moments in the song. Rao is seen offering chowmein to Baby Singh who’s getting affectionate towards him.

This is not the first time Bollywood has recreated the legend’s song or qawwali. Earlier, Bollywood recreated on of Nusrat’s famous qawwali ‘Mere Rashke Qamar’.

‘Fanney Khan’ is the story of a father, played by Anil Kapoor, struggling to fulfill the dreams of his daughter, who wishes to be a singer. With a friend’s help, he abducts a popular singer to extort enough money to launch his daughter’s career.

The film, which is Atul Manjerekar’s debut film as a director, will releases on August 3.
