'50,000 vehicles to be distributed under Apna Rozgar Scheme'

Provincial Minister for Co-operative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar has said that 50 thousand vehicles are being distributed under Apna Rozgar Scheme. A total of more than 1.5 lakh applications were received in this regard throughout the province out of which 13065 were from Bahawalpur division, he added. He said that 3383 each Ravi and Bolan vehicles are being distributed among 6766 successful candidates.
He expressed these views while addressing a function of computerised balloting of vehicles at Ghotvi Hall of Islamia University Bahawalpur today. Commissioner Bahawalpur division, DCO, officers of government departments, representatives of Punjab Bank besides a large number of civil society, intellectuals and journalists were present on the occasion.
The Minister said that ten percent additional quota has been allocated for South Punjab in the scheme under which 50 thousand vehicles are being distributed among jobless youth only on the basis of merit. He said that this scheme has been started with an amount of Rs 31 billion in the province. He said that under this scheme vehicles are being provided Rs 70 thousand per vehicle less than market rate. He said that an excellent business model of Apna Rozgar Scheme has been made and the mark-up will be paid by Punjab government. He said that both men and women will benefit from the scheme.
