101 Pakistanis in Spanish jails: Hina

Answering a question of Col. Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi during Question Hour, she said that due to privacy laws, the Spanish authorities do not provide information about prisoners without their consent.

She said that for assistance in 2009, the lawyer hired by the ten Pakistanis facing terrorism charges was paid Euro 15,000 by the Consulate General in Barcelona (Spain) as fee. Pakistani community has also contributed remaining Euro 7,000.

She said that an additional expenditure of Euro 20,000 on lawyer's fee and legal aid to pursue the case of these Pakistanis in the higher appeal court is expected.
