Taiwan stocks bounce; LCD makers and tourism gain

The main TAIEX index rose 40.58 points to 7,144.20, after closing down 1.09 percent in the previous session, lifted by LCD makers which gained 1.18 percent.

Tourism counters remained among the top gainers from Monday, up 0.91 percent, after incumbent President Ma Ying-jeou was re-elected, indicating further good economic ties with China.

Banking shares and electronics shares edged up 0.52 percent and 0.38 percent respectively.

The Taiwan dollar was up 0.29 percent to trade at T$29.984.
