Rumors of Shah Rukh Khan helping actor Irrfan Khan, who is currently undergoing treatment in London for neuroendocrine tumour, had been making rounds for a while now, however, the ailing star’s spokesperson has put an end to the speculations.

In a statement, Irrfan's spokesperson has denied all the rumors about SRK providing assistance to the actor. “The story floating around of Shahrukh and Irrfan is a fragment of imagination of some individual who has whipped out the story through their unreliable sources. It has no truth to it. While the duo is friends, the story of their meeting and the subsequent incidents has no truth,” the statement reads, Indian media reported.

Rumours were doing the rounds that SRK met Irrfan and offered him the keys to his London home to the actor and his family. While people applauded SRK for his gesture, it has turned out that the rumours were all untrue.

On the other hand, Irrfan bagged the IIFA ‘Best Actor’ trophy on Sunday for his role in ‘Hindi Medium’. The actor has been awarded for his spectacular portrayal of a Delhi-based businessman Raj Batra, who struggles to get his daughter Pia admitted to a prestigious English medium school.

The movie also starred Pakistani actor Saba Qamar in the lead role. The actor's award was collected by 'Hindi Medium' team at the ceremony. After the award ceremony, the star took to twitter and thanked IIFA and his audience for being a part of his journey.

Other actors nominated in the category were Ranbir Kapoor for Jagga Jasoos', Adil Hussain for 'Mukti Bhawan', Rajkummar Rao for 'Newton' and Akshay Kumar for 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha'.

The critically-acclaimed actor has been vocal about his battle with neuroendocrine tumour, which he was diagnosed with in March this year. Last week, in an emotional note, Irrfan opened up about battling the rare disease and talked at length about one of the terrifying hospital visits, his ordeal with the illness and how everything changed in an instant.
