This was stated by Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Khalid Sherdil, while presiding over a meeting on Saturday in which rehabilitation efforts of UN agencies were reviewed. He said the Punjab government and UN agencies had rehabilitated 89 water supply schemes and installed 50 tube-wells whereas 675 safe drinking water storage tanks and 3074 hand-pumps were installed in the areas. Khalid Sherdil said that with the collaboration of UN agencies, the Punjab government had established 150 child education centres and rehabilitated 1,468 partially affected schools in flood affected areas of Punjab.
