Pakistan top order batsman Babar Azam, has quickly raised along the ranks of the team’s batting line up, and is considered among the best batsman in the team right now.

Revealing about his early days, Azam revealed that he used to follow South Africa’s batting maestro AB de Villiers. “Early on in my club cricket days, I used to follow AB de Villiers, I loved his natural stroke play and his ability to play 360 degree. I used to copy his shots in the nets,” he said.

Talking about his memorable knocks in international cricket, Babar noted that his three consecutive tons against West Indies back in 2016, and his hundred against Australia at Adelaide in 2017. “The three back-to-back centuries I scored against West Indies, and the century against Australia are my memorable performances till date,” revealed Azam.

The 23 years old further added that he cites to achieve a number of goals as his career progresses. “I have only started off my career, I believe I need to learn a lot and achieve a number of goals as well. I learn from my mistakes and try not to repeat them in the next match,” said Azam.

Earlier, Azam has said that it was his dream to play at Lords cricket ground and perform for his side. “Lords has a particular significance as it is the birthplace of cricket and it has always been my dream to play there and perform well for Pakistan. We are hopeful to play well and make the nation proud,” said Babar.

Pakistan will be facing England for the two Test series, with the first Test match scheduled at the historic Lord’s on May 24.
