The Prime Minister told the National Assembly that the objective of creation of Seraiki province must not fall prey to politicking.
The Prime Minister urged the parliamentarians not to get influenced on this important matter otherwise "history will not forgive them".
He said the government used all platforms to raise the matter of Seraiki province including bringing resolution in the Punjab Assembly, to which no debate was held.
He said after no positive response, the government was compelled to bring the issue to the National Assembly.
He called upon the political parties to also evolve consensus on Hazara province and expressed his support in this regard.
Prime Minister mentioned that PML(Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat and Gohar Ayub also met him in connection with the Hazara province.
He said the ANP President Asfandyar Wali in a meeting with him suggested to evolve consensus within Pakistan Peoples Party. He said the matter had now been referred to manifesto committee of PPP.
He mentioned that he had already asked the Chief whips of political parties to meet Speaker National Assembly to discuss creation of new provinces.
Gilani said the government would not oppose if the political parties wanted to table separate resolutions for new provinces.
