ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police traced a total of 75 murders cases during the year 2011, collected vital evidences against 138 culprits and submitted challans of the cases to the concerned courts.

Islamabad police succeeded in tracing 75 murders cases after collecting forensic as well as other vital evidences, a police spokesman said on Thursday.

All available resources and latest investigation techniques were used to resolve the cases. Due to these efforts, City Zone traced 15 murders and arrested 24 alleged persons, Saddar Zone successfully worked out 22 murder cases and nabbed 51 culprits, Industrial areas Zone traced six murder cases and nabbed 15 alleged killers, while Rural Zone traced 32 murder cases, besides apprehending 48 persons involved in the cases.

Inspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan assigned special task to all police stations of Islamabad to resolve murder cases and provide relief to the families of victims. The SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik said there is no alternate to life, however, it is the responsibility of police to trace the killers of innocent people and provide justice to the bereaved families.

The SSP Islamabad directed all SHOs and Investigation officers to give priority to investigation of murder cases and book the culprits. Owing to the collective efforts by the concerned departments, Islamabad police successfully investigated 75 murder cases.
