Meesha Shafi’s lawyer has dismissed the defamation notice sent by Ali Zafar after allegations of sexual harassment were laid upon him by the singer.

In response to the accusations made against Ali last week by Meesha, the pop star denied ‘all claims of harassment’ followed by a legal notice sent out to Meesha.

The legal battle between the two began after the defamation notice sent to Meesha demanded her to issue an apology on Twitter along with deleting the tweets that accused Ali of harassment. Failing to do so, Ali would file a Rs. 1 billion defamation suit against her.

According to local media reports, Meesha’s lawyer, Barrister Muhammad Ahmad Pansota, on Wednesday confirmed on receiving the notice by Ali. “We have received the notice and are examining its contents. The contents of Meesha’s statements with regard to Ali Zafar are based on truth, and therefore we dispel this notice,” he said.

Meesha had tweeted against Ali, accusing the pop star of subjecting her to sexual harassment on multiple occasions.
