Parliamentary Committees of PPP, PML-N to present outcome of reforms

Briefing the media after the 10th meeting of the Parliamentary Committees of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) on economic reforms, Minister for Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said that both the sides have taken up the issues with open mind, sincerity and honestly.

He said that all the ten points of PML-N economic reforms agenda were discussed in detail and PML-N committee was also informed about the progress of the outcomes.

"Both the sides have decided to present the outcomes of the meetings to their respective leadership which would decide the steps for future strategy for economic reforms in the country", he added.

Dr. Shaikh further informed that the meeting also discussed the income and expenditure matters of the provincial governments to implement the economic reforms.

Speaking on the occasion, Senator Ishaq Dar who was heading the PML-N side informed that the outcomes of the Parliamentary Committees would be submitted before the meeting of Central Organizing Committee, Which would be held on February 25.

He said that all 10 points of economic reforms agenda presented by the PML- N were discussed with open mind and today the meeting take stock about the decisions being made in the previous meetings.

He said that the report would be presented to PML-N Qaid Nawaz Sharif, who would decide the future steps adding that government was asked to inform any other progress on economic reforms taking place till February 24 which would also be included in the report.
