The upcoming royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not have any foreign and UK politicians on the guest list.

The soon-to-be married royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is to cut loose with tradition for their wedding by not inviting prominent names in politics.

“It has been decided that an official list of political leaders - both UK and international - is not required for Prince Harry and Ms Markle’s wedding. Her majesty’s government was consulted on this decision, which was taken by the royal household,” said an official spokesperson for the Kensington Palace, The Independent quotes.

Unlike the wedding of Prince William in 2011, this upcoming ceremony is not an official state occasion, so the couple is not obliged to invite political leaders. However, some world leaders may attend on the basis of their personal relationship with the two.

The list of uninvited guests not only includes the Obamas and US President Trump, but also British Prime Minister Theresa May, as she would not be seen on the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 19, Daily Mail reported.

However, of the 2,640 people invited to the ceremony, Kensington Palace has made the names of few people who have made it to the guest list public. The invitees include ‘young people who have shown strong leadership, and those who have served their communities,’ read a statement from Kensington Palace.
