Parliamentarians, former MPAs discuss political situation with Prime Minister
During the meetings at the Prime Minister House here on Thursday, they expressed their commitment to the vision of the founding fathers of PPP who fought for the rights of the downtrodden and in the struggle rendered ultimate sacrifice without giving in to dictators. They expressed their firm resolve to continue to espouse the cause of democracy for the higher causes of federation, and national unity.The Prime Minister appreciated their commitment and said that democracy would flourish in the country adding, people, like them in the party, were a valuable asset for the country and the people. The Prime Minister called upon them that full attention should be given to mobilize the rank and file of the party both at local and national levels in view of the election to be held after the completion of tenure of the Parliament. The Prime Minister said it was heartening that the PPP had performed extremely well in most of the by-elections including the elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It speaks volumes about the popularity of the party throughout the country, the Prime Minister said.
