LAHORE: The Lahore administration’s polio teams administered drops to 2,153,020 children across the provincial metropolis during the first five days of the campaign and reached 1,499,695 households, ensuring robust coverage in targeted areas.

This was disclosed during a meeting presided over by Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain Muhammad Ali Ijaz (retd) on Saturday to evaluate the operational progress and five-day performance metrics of the ongoing anti-polio drive.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Abdullah Khan, CEO Health Dr Asif Arbab Khan, international observers, Deputy District Health Officers (DDHOs), and all Assistant Commissioners.

After reviewing the data, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated the district administration’s firm commitment to achieve 100 percent coverage of every eligible child up to five years of age. He stressed that covering new-borns and convincing reluctant parents through effective awareness campaigns was of paramount importance. All Assistant Commissioners were directed to remain active in the field, monitor operations closely, and ensure that any reported bottlenecks or operational issues are resolved immediately.

The Deputy Commissioner maintained that all necessary resources and administrative backing will continue to be provided to make the anti-polio drive an absolute success.
