HYDERABAD: In pursuance of STGO No. 1(215) ST-L&P/2026/108756-R dated 28th September 2026, Regional Tax Office Hyderabad, under the directions of the Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, initiated an enforcement drive within its territorial jurisdiction to ensure compliance with digital invoicing requirements.

During the drive, more than 30 vehicles transporting goods pertaining to taxpayers falling within the jurisdiction of RTO Hyderabad, including cotton factories and other business establishments, were intercepted for carrying goods without digitally generated invoices.

Details of the goods, their value and corresponding tax implications were recorded, following which the vehicles were allowed to proceed. Subsequently, show-cause notices under Section 11E of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 were issued to the concerned taxpayers.

Within just three days, more than 30 vehicles were intercepted, involving an estimated tax impact exceeding Rs 30 million.

The initiative reflects RTO Hyderabad’s commitment to strengthening digital invoicing compliance, documenting taxable transactions and preventing sales tax evasion across its jurisdiction.
