Air Link Communication Limited (Airlink), one of Pakistan’s leading technology manufacturers, has officially launched AirV, its own electric bike brand, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth.

AirV makes its market debut with 11 models across six distinct series, offering a range designed around different customer preferences, riding requirements and applications, the company said in a statement.

The lineup combines contemporary design with technology-led features, including cruise control, regenerative battery technology, NFC functionality and anti-theft features. With lithium battery options and model-specific ranges of up to 200 kilometres, AirV offers customers a range of choices.

Earlier, the company, in a filing to the bourse, said that the project was being implemented at its manufacturing facility in the Sundar Green Special Economic Zone (SGSEZ), Lahore.

Talking to Business Recorder, Muzaffar Hayat Paracha said the manufacturing capacity will be operationalised in phases.

He said the company plans to localise almost 95% of all production over the next two to three years, gradually reducing dependence on imported components.

Airlink also plans to use its Airfin financing service to offer buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) options for electric bikes, making them more affordable.

“Our vision is to contribute towards building a stronger, more progressive Pakistan through meaningful innovation,” Aslam Hayat Piracha, Chairman, Airlink Communication Limited, said while speaking on the occasion.

“With AirV, we aim to be part of the transformation in the country’s transportation landscape by making modern, reliable and technology-driven mobility more accessible and affordable. Beyond introducing electric bikes, we aspire to contribute to Pakistan’s EV ecosystem through local manufacturing, technological advancement and sustainable business practices, creating value for consumers and opportunities for the wider industry.”

Speaking at the launch, Muzaffar Hayat Paracha, Group CEO, Airlink, said: “At Airlink, our growth has always been driven by a forward-thinking approach, identifying emerging opportunities and transforming them into successful businesses. As Pakistan moves towards electric mobility, we see immense potential to redefine the future of transportation. This launch marks another significant milestone in Airlink’s journey of innovation and diversification.”

Pakistan’s EV industry is experiencing growing momentum, driven by government policies, environmental concerns, and rising fuel costs, though it faces significant challenges. The EV sector in Pakistan is described as a “newborn baby” that needs time and consistent government support to evolve and build the necessary infrastructure and ecosystem.
