Domestic cement despatches slightly up by 1.17pc during Oct-26

LAHORE: All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association has revealed that local cement despatches by the industry during the month of Oct-26 were 4.041 million tons compared to 3.994 million tons in Oct-25, showing an increase of 1.17pc.

Export despatches, however, declined by 3.67pc to 768,754 tons compared to 798,019 tons in Oct-25. Total cement despatches during Oct-26 were 4.810 million tons against 4.792 million tons despatched during the same month of last fiscal year, showing an increase of 0.37pc.

According to the data released by the Association on Tuesday, in Oct-26, total despatches by North based cement mills were 3.397 million tons cement showing a decline of 3.13pc against 3.507 million tons despatches in Oct-25. South based mills despatched 1.41 million tons cement during Oct-26 that was 9.90pc more compared to the despatches of 1.29 million tons during Oct-25.

Against the domestic despatches of 3.393 million tons in Oct-25, North based cement mills despatched 3.397 million tons cement in domestic markets in Oct-26 showing an increase of 0.13%. South based mills despatched 643,816 tons cement in local markets during Oct-26 that was 7.05pc more compared to the despatches of 601,401 tons during Oct-25.

Compared to the exports of 114,082 tons in Oct-25, there were no exports from North based mills in Oct-26. Exports from South increased by 12.40pc to 768,754 tons in Oct-26; from 683,937 tons during the same month last year; the data shows.

During the first four months of current fiscal year, total cement despatches (domestic and exports) were 17.953 million tons that is 2.93pc higher than 17.442 million tons despatched during the corresponding period of last fiscal year.

Domestic despatches during this period were 14.889 million tons against 14.055 million tons during same period last year showing an increase of 5.93pc. Export despatches were 9.51pc less as the volumes reduced to 3.064 million tons during the first four months of current fiscal year compared to 3.387 million tons exports done during same period of last fiscal year.

North based mills despatched 12.344 million tons cement domestically during the first four months of current fiscal year showing an increase of 4.87pc than cement despatches of 11.770 million tons during Jul-25 to Oct-25. There were no exports from North during Jul-26 to Oct-26 compared with 775,948 tons exported during the same period last year. Total despatches by North based Mills reduced by 1.61pc to 12.344 million tons during first four months of current financial year from 12.546 million tons during same period of last financial year.

Domestic despatches by South based mills during Jul-26 to Oct-26 were 2.545 million tons showing an increase of 11.36pc over 2.285 million tons cement despatched during the same period of last fiscal year. Exports from South also increased by 17.38pc to 3.064 million tons during Jul-26 to Oct-26 compared with 2.611 million tons exported during the same period last year. Total despatches by South based Mills increased by 14.57pc to 5.610 million tons during first four months of current financial year from 4.896 million tons during same period of last financial year.
