A senior Chinese Communist Party official praised Pakistan’s role in regional peace during talks with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in Rawalpindi on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Liu Haixing, minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, called on Field Marshal Munir, who also serves as Chief of Army Staff, at General Headquarters (GHQ).
The two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, evolving regional and international security dynamics, and bilateral relations, the military’s media wing said.
Munir highlighted the historic and long-tested ties between Pakistan and China, stressing the need for sustained high-level engagement, stronger institutional links and wider cooperation in areas of shared interest.
Both sides expressed their determination to further strengthen the “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” between the two countries.
Liu appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability and said he was confident that the longstanding strategic partnership would advance further.
Pakistan and China have described their relationship as an all-weather strategic cooperative partnership for years, with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a flagship project under China’s Belt and Road Initiative launched in 2015, forming a central part of bilateral cooperation.
The meeting comes as both countries continue to describe their ties as long-standing, and the statement did not announce any new agreement or project.
