PESHAWAR: Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government on Information and Public Relations Samar Haroon Bilour has said that Sohail Afridi is under protective custody as the provincial administration compiled evidence of alleged corruption worth billions of rupees to prepare charge sheets against him.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Samar said the evidence collected so far was being compiled and would form the basis of formal charges against Afridi.
She said legal representatives, including barristers associated with the matter, were also involved in the process.
Samar further claimed that some voices from within Afridi’s own party had endorsed the provincial administration’s position regarding the alleged corruption.
She said the charge sheets would be presented to Afridi once the compilation of evidence was completed.
The statement comes amid administrative arrangements in the province following the imposition of governor’s rule.
