Recently, the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) was successfully held in Guangzhou, China, with the scale of overseas buyers reaching a record high. This demonstrates the firm confidence of the global business community in “Made in China” and reflects the robust vitality of China’s foreign trade.
At present, facing a complex and grim external environment, China has taken solid steps to advance high-quality development. The national economy has withstood pressure and maintained steady progress, exhibiting a development momentum marked by new growth drivers and an improved structure, thereby injecting valuable stability and certainty into the world.
The Chinese economy has forged ahead with strong resilience and sound growth momentum, continuously empowering global growth. For years, China’s contribution to global economic growth has remained around 30%, serving as a well-deserved primary engine.
In 2025, China’s gross domestic product (GDP) exceeded 140 trillion yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of 5% and successfully achieving the expected target. In the first three quarters of 2026, China’s GDP grew by 4.6% year-on-year, maintaining a leading position among major global economies. Amid multiple shocks – including a volatile and turbulent international landscape, recurrent geopolitical conflicts, and profound adjustments in global industrial and supply chains – the Chinese economy has demonstrated robust risk-resistance capacity and intrinsic stability, continuing to serve as an anchor of stability for the global economy.
The Chinese economy enjoys a solid foundation, multiple advantages, strong resilience, and immense potential; and the supporting conditions and basic trends for its long-term sound growth remain unchanged. In the future, it will remain the most powerful, stable, and reliable source of momentum for global economic growth.
The Chinese economy, open and inclusive, forges ahead steadily and helps cushion global risks. On the one hand, as the world’s largest manufacturing country, China continuously provides the global market with high-quality, cost-effective, stable and reliable products.
As some countries turn to unilateralism and protectionism, China continues to expand high-standard opening-up, providing a vast market space for global goods and services through measures such as lowering import tariffs, hosting the China International Import Expo (CIIE), and launching the “Export to China” series of activities. On the other hand, confronted with global challenges including energy security, food security and climate change, China has countered uncertainties in the evolving situation through its own steady development and international cooperation, providing strong support for the international community to fend off risks. Against the backdrop of the energy crisis triggered by the Middle East conflict, China, as the world’s largest oil importer, has proactively reduced imports and regulated market demand, serving as a key buffer for stabilizing global oil prices.
Feeding nearly one-fifth of the world’s population with less than 9% of the world’s arable land, China has also provided emergency food assistance to relevant countries on multiple occasions, helped developing countries enhance their food self-sufficiency capacity and made important contributions to global food security. China has actively advanced the green and low-carbon transition, and built the world’s largest and most complete clean energy industrial chain. Through cooperation in green equipment and clean energy, it provides more developing countries with realistic options that balance development and emission reduction, injecting strong impetus into global green development.
Driven by innovation, the Chinese economy has achieved progress both in quality and quantity, providing a strong boost to global development. China has witnessed leapfrog progress in its sci-tech innovation capabilities, with its number of top 100 sci-tech innovation clusters ranking first globally for four consecutive years, and its Global Innovation Index ranking rising from 34th in 2012 to 10th in 2025. At present, the Chinese economy is advancing toward new growth drivers and an improved structure.
The emerging industries – represented by artificial intelligence, new energy, biomanufacturing, commercial aerospace, and the low-altitude economy – are growing rapidly. The construction of the “six major networks” – the water network, new-type power grid, computing power network, next-generation communication network, urban underground utility pipeline network, and logistics network – is being further advanced in depth. The landscape of China’s innovation-driven development is unfolding at an accelerated pace, with a growing number of products moving from “Made in China” to “Created in China”, and more “Chinese solutions” stepping onto the world stage. Building on its own sci-tech progress and industrial upgrading, China continues to share “innovation dividends” with the world, driving global industrial transformation across multiple sectors.
As an ancient Chinese saying goes, “A single flower does not make spring, while a hundred flowers in full blossom bring spring to the garden.” China’s development cannot be separated from the world, and the world’s development also needs China. We welcome people of all countries aboard the “express trains” and “free rides” of China’s development and achieve common prosperity through mutually beneficial cooperation.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. Over the past 75 years, regardless of changes in the international landscape, China and Pakistan have always trusted each other, supported each other, and achieved mutual success, forging a time-tested ironclad friendship and setting a good example for state-to-state relations. As a pilot project under the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has yielded fruitful outcomes.
To date, it has brought over $25.9 billion in direct investment, created more than 260,000 jobs, generated over 8,000 megawatts of electricity, built 510 kilometres of highways, and laid 886 kilometres of the national core power transmission grid. It has injected strong impetus into Pakistan’s economic and social development, played an important exemplary role in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and served as a vivid embodiment of building a China-Pakistan community with a shared future.
High-quality development of the Chinese economy will bring new and greater opportunities to Pakistan. We are ready to provide Pakistan with more market, innovation, and development dividends, consolidate the foundation of cooperation in traditional areas, tap cooperation potential in emerging sectors, solidly advance the action plan for building a China-Pakistan community with a shared future, accelerate the building of the “Version 2.0” of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), coordinate major signature projects and “small and beautiful” livelihood programs, and deepen all-round cooperation in agriculture, industry, artificial intelligence, and talent training, so as to better benefit our two countries and our two peoples.
Those who act will succeed; those who press ahead will arrive. Standing at the new historical starting point of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan, let us stand hand in hand and forge ahead with shared resolve, jointly nurture the flower of China-Pakistan friendship, sail together toward a sea of win-win cooperation, and jointly create a bright future of harmony and shared prosperity.
