British-Pakistani racing driver and motorsport entrepreneur Enaam Ahmed has achieved a major milestone in driver development, securing a place at the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy for his young protégé, Daniel Mirón Lorente, after a year of coaching and management.

Ahmed has spent the past 12 months coaching, managing and developing the Spanish driver through Elite Driver Development, a professional racing driver management programme launched a year ago.

The announcement marks a significant achievement for Ahmed’s initiative, with Lorente’s selection representing a major step forward in the young driver’s career.

Born in 2013, Lorente is regarded as a promising prospect in international karting, where he continues to compete. His Ferrari Driver Academy selection comes about a month after he won the COTF Euro Series championship.

Announcing the development, Elite Driver Development said it was proud to see its driver join the Ferrari Driver Academy just 12 months after the programme was launched.

The organisation credited a year of hard work, dedication and belief for the achievement, describing the move as an important step in Lorente’s racing career.

Ahmed is the co-founder and driver mentor of Elite Driver Development and he himself has competed at the very top of motorsport — FIA Formula 3 Champion and World Karting Champion.

Through hands-on mentorship, he guides competitors from their first karting seasons through the single-seater ladder with insight that only comes from having been there.
