ICMA INTERNATIONAL, Best Corporate & Sustainability Reports AWARD 2025 Sunday, 25th October 2026 Islamabad: Abdul Qayyum, FCMA Vice President
FCMA Vice President, ICMA Pakistan Co-Chairman, Joint Task Force, BCSR Awards
The Best Corporate & Sustainability Reports (BCSR) Awards 2025 recognize the sustained effort that reporting teams invest in explaining their organizations’ performance. I am pleased to join in celebrating their achievements.
A useful report begins with the questions its readers need answered. What shaped the results? How were significant risks addressed? What progress was made against earlier commitments? Clear responses, supported by evidence, enable stakeholders to assess an organization’s position and prospects.
As Co-Chairman of the Joint Task Force, I see these Awards as a practical opportunity to encourage better disclosure. Preparing a report requires coordination among finance, operations, governance and sustainability teams. Consistent information, careful review and management oversight are essential to ensuring that the final publication presents a balanced and coherent account of the organization.
Sustainability disclosures require the same discipline. Defined indicators, comparable data and explanations of measurement methods help readers evaluate progress. Where information remains incomplete, acknowledging limitations adds context. Reporting teams should also explain changes in performance and give appropriate attention to commitments that have yet to be fulfilled.
I congratulate the winners and commend all participating organizations for their efforts. My appreciation goes to fellow Joint Task Force members, evaluators and judges for their diligence, and to the teams at ICMA Pakistan and ICAP for their coordination. I also thank our sponsors and partners for supporting this initiative and the professional exchange it makes possible.
I encourage participants to apply the lessons from this exercise to their next reporting cycle. Such improvements will extend the value of participation beyond recognition.
