LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reports from the deputy commissioners of Lahore and Sheikhupura on petitions challenging the detention of PTI workers.
Earlier, the petitioners’ counsel said that the workers, including Rashid and others had been detained and were not released even after the expiry of their detention periods as the deputy commissioners Lahore and Sheikhupura issued fresh detention orders.
He argued that keeping the workers in detention without any reason was unconstitutional. The lawyer, therefore, asked the court to declare the impugned orders illegal and direct the authorities concerned to release the workers immediately.
