RAWALPINDI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday adjourned the hearing of a case against human rights activist and lawyer Imaan Zainab Mazari and her husband, advocate Hadi Ali Chattha, who are accused of violating a security protocol and assaulting police personnel, after the state counsel completed cross-examination of the prosecution witnesses.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard the case at the makeshift court in Adiala Jail and adjourned the proceedings until Saturday (today).
During the next hearing, the court will hand over questionnaires under Section 342 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) to both accused. Section 342 allows an accused person to explain any incriminating circumstances appearing in the evidence against them.
