SAO PAULO: Brazil’s soybean exports are expected to fall 0.8 percent in 2027 from 2026 to 113 million metric tons, crushers group Abiove said on Thursday, as stronger domestic processing demand limits supply to importers such as China.
Export revenue from the soybean complex, nonetheless, is still forecast to reach a record USD69.3 billion, up from the USD60.3 billion estimated for 2026, supported by higher commodity prices.
Soybean crushing forecast at a record 66 million tons in 2027, up 3.8 percent from 2026, driven by rising domestic demand.
biove expects the domestic biodiesel industry to use more soybean oil next year, with its forecast assuming a 1-percentage-point increase in the mandatory biodiesel blend to 16 percent in March.
Soybean meal production seen up 3.8 percent to a record 50.8 million tons, with exports rising 4 percent to 26.3 million tons, also an all-time high. Soybean oil production seen up 3.7 percent to a record 13.27 million tons, but exports expected to fall 2.6 percent to 1.9 million tons as biodiesel production absorbs more supply. Brazil is the world’s largest soybean producer and exporter.
