Mir Raza case: Sharjeel says whoever is found responsible for negligence will be punished
KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that whoever is found responsible for negligence in the Mir Raza case will be punished.
He said that the Judicial Commission was formed in accordance with the decision of the Sindh Cabinet, and the report of the Judicial Commission was presented at meeting of the Sindh Cabinet.
The Chief Minister of Sindh has constituted a committee comprising three senior ministers, including Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Saeed Ghani and Nasir Shah. The committee will review the report and brief the Cabinet, while the recommendations presented by the Judicial Commission will be implemented to ensure compliance.
In a statement, Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon said that it would be unfair to attribute the mistake of a single individual to the entire department. This is the same Sindh Police that has solved major cases. Incidents of terrorism, targeted killings and extortion have continued to occur in Karachi, and such incidents take place not only in Karachi but also across Pakistan and throughout the world.
Regarding transport projects, Sharjeel Memon said that the Orange Line project in Karachi is ready, while work on University Road was a major challenge in the Red Line project. Citizens are now facing fewer difficulties on University Road; however, issues related to encroachments still exist.
The difficult and troublesome work on the Red Line has been completed, and now stations and depots are to be constructed. He said that work on the Yellow Line is yet to begin, while the second section of Jam Sadiq Bridge will also be completed soon. Some traffic problems may arise during work on the Yellow Line, for which he apologised to citizens in advance.
Sharjeel said that the Green Line was a project of the federal government, which was handed over to the Sindh government. After it was handed over to the Sindh government, the number of passengers travelling on the Green Line increased. The Orange Line, Red Line and Yellow Line are projects of the Sindh government. He said that a large number of double-decker buses would arrive in Karachi in November. As a result of continuous efforts, Karachi’s transport problem is being resolved, and better travel facilities are being provided to citizens.
Regarding ongoing development projects in Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that development projects are underway everywhere on the instructions of the Chief Minister of Sindh. Shahrah-e-Bhutto is a state-of-the-art and high-quality project.
