PESHAWAR: District administration launched a grand campaign against encroachments to address commuting difficulties faced by citizens, keep roads clear, and improve the flow of traffic in the city.
In this connection, district administration in collaboration with Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) carried out a grand anti-encroachment operation at Garhi Qamar Din area along the Ring Road.
During the operation, illegal structures — comprising dozens of shops — were demolished with the aid of heavy machinery. The objective of this initiative is to remove encroachments along the Ring Road and its adjacent areas, restore the designated road boundaries, improve traffic flow, and provide better commuting facilities for the public. Throughout the operation, relevant departmental personnel, supported by heavy machinery, are taking concrete steps to eliminate these encroachments.
The newly posted Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Afaq Wazir, has stated that the operation to completely remove encroachments along the Ring Road and its adjacent areas will continue, and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.
He has directed the relevant departments to carry out the operation effectively and to ensure that no illegal structures are re-established once the encroachments have been cleared.
The Peshawar District Administration has appealed to citizens and shopkeepers to refrain from constructing illegal structures or creating encroachments on roads, footpaths, and public thoroughfares, and to cooperate with the administration.
Facilitating the movement of citizens, maintaining the smooth flow of traffic, and keeping the city’s roads free from encroachments are among the top priorities of the District Administration.
