ISLAMABAD: President Asif Zardari on Sunday paid tribute to the victims of the Karsaz tragedy on its 19th anniversary, saying that their “supreme sacrifices form a bright chapter in Pakistan’s national history.”
In his message commemorating the “tragic anniversary,” the President said that “Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto remained steadfast despite grave threats to her life, adding her courage and ultimate sacrifice served as a guiding light for all champions of democracy, peace, and justice.”
In a statement, Zardari said, “The sacrifices of the Karsaz martyrs will continue to serve as a perpetual source of inspiration for future generations in building a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous Pakistan.”
