Unfortunately, it has become common to associate the word ‘Hindu’ with India. While India may be our historical adversary, and we have every right to criticise its government policies, we should must not condemn the Hindu religion or Sanatan Dharma.

Likewise, even if India considers Pakistan its adversary, India should not respond by portraying Muslims or Islam in a negative light. Criticism should be directed at countries, governments, institutions, and their policies—not at religions.

My appeal to my fellow citizens is simple: Let us distinguish between religion and politics. We have every right to criticise a country and its policies, but we must never target a religion. Respect for all faiths is a sign of tolerance, wisdom, and humanity.
