KARACHI: The Central Executive Committee of the Pakistan International Business Forum (PIBF) held a meeting at its Karachi office under the chairmanship of their Karachi President Sohail Aziz to review the participation of a PIBF delegation in the MUSIAD International Expo, its report, and preparations for the seventh edition of “My Brand Pakistan” in Karachi.

Sohail Aziz told the meeting that 37 people from Karachi and other parts of the country participated in the 21st MUSIAD conference, while several others attended directly. He said the arrangements for the conference were widely appreciated by participants. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also attended the conference on its second day.

He said that when the PIBF delegation introduced “My Brand Pakistan” and explained that the initiative had originated in the context of Gaza to promote a boycott of Israeli products and those of countries supporting Israel, the Palestinian delegation showed particular interest and presented a special shield in recognition of the initiative.

Sohail Aziz said Pakistan and Türkiye were among the two countries most frequently mentioned by delegations and businesspeople from the 42 countries participating in the conference.

He added that the next MUSIAD conference would be held in Syria in 2027, followed by Türkiye the following year. The PIBF has offered to host the conference in Pakistan, and the proposal received a warm welcome, although no other country had yet made a similar offer.

The meeting also congratulated Sohail Aziz on his election as chairman of the Pakistan Cotton Fashion Apparel Manufacturers and Exporters Association for 2026–2028.

Participants were informed that around 18 individuals associated with PIBF had also been elected in chamber of commerce elections across the country. The meeting further congratulated Syed Umairuddin Hussain, director of PIBF’s Chambers Liaison Committee, on his election as a member of the chamber on the BMG platform.
