KARACHI: Pakistan made a strong impression on the opening day of SIAL Paris 2026, one of the world’s leading international food exhibitions, being held from 17 to 21 October 2026 in Paris, France. Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion, highlighting Pakistan’s growing potential as a competitive supplier of quality food and agricultural products to international markets.

A total of 37 Pakistani companies are participating under the banner of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), showcasing a diverse range of products, including rice, processed foods, Himalayan pink salt, beverages and other food products. In addition, TDAP facilitated visa arrangements for Pakistani companies participating independently in the exhibition, extending support to the broader participation of Pakistani exporters at this important international platform.

Rice exporters constitute a significant part of Pakistan’s participation, with 22 of the 37 companies representing the rice sector.

Cooked Pakistani biryani emerged as one of the major attractions on the opening day, drawing attention to the country’s rich culinary heritage, distinctive flavours and high-quality rice.

Initial feedback from the first day of the exhibition indicates a very encouraging response from European buyers, particularly for Pakistani Basmati rice. Exporters have reported strong interest and promising prospects for orders, reflecting the potential for enhanced market access and stronger commercial partnerships with European importers and distributors.

Pakistan’s participation in SIAL Paris 2026 forms part of its broader efforts to explore new markets, strengthen engagement with international buyers and increase exports of value-added and traditional food products. The exhibition provides Pakistani companies with an important opportunity to establish business-to-business connections, showcase product quality and standards, and develop long-term commercial relationships with buyers across Europe and other regions.
