Court adjourns ex-CM KP audio leak case

Published Updated

ISLAMABAD: A local court on Saturday could not record the statements of prosecution witnesses in an audio leak case against former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur due to the accused’s non-appearance.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Hakim Khan Bakhar adjourned the hearing until November 27 after being informed that the accused had already been arrested.

Gandapur’s lawyer, Raja Zahoorul Hassan, appeared before the court along with co-accused Farooq in the case registered against them at the Golra Police Station.

The defence counsel informed the court that Gandapur was scheduled to appear but could not do so because he had already been arrested.

He further argued that issuing fresh arrest warrants for the accused would serve no purpose, as Gandapur was already in custody.

The court could not record the statements of prosecution witnesses due to the accused’s non-appearance and adjourned the hearing until November 27.
