PESHAWAR: Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service Peshawar has completed the delivery of 52 new buses, with the final batch of 27 arriving at the Chamkani depot on Friday morning.

The first 25 buses arrived last month, completing the full delivery.

According to TransPeshawar, the new additions have increased the city’s BRT fleet to 296 buses. The expanded fleet is expected to improve passenger travel, increase operational efficiency and support the introduction of new BRT routes.

TransPeshawar, the operator of the service says the additional buses will help meet Peshawar’s growing transport needs, although the authority has not specified which new routes will launch or when they will begin operating.

The arrival of the final 27 buses completes the delivery of all 52 vehicles and marks another step in the planned expansion of Peshawar’s public transport service.
