- Directives to telecom operators on service issues.
- Telecom operators' partial QoS compliance.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said on Friday it had intensified nationwide monitoring to improve the quality of telecom services, enhance network performance, and address consumer concerns.
“In this regard, various monitoring activities and service improvement measures were undertaken through PTA’s 10 Zonal Offices from 8th to 14th October, 2026,” the Authority said in a statement.
The PTA said telecom operators had been directed to resolve the identified issues concerning mobile network coverage, quality of voice and internet services within the stipulated timeframe.
The issue relating to the closure of telecom site in Faisalabad had also been successfully resolved, it added.
“PTA continues to work closely with relevant organisations, telecom operators, and local administrations to ensure the delivery of improved, reliable, and quality telecom services to consumers across the country.”
PTA’s Zonal Offices, in close coordination with relevant stakeholders, visited areas in Thatta, Dera Ghazi Khan, Mandi Bahauddin, Quetta, Faisalabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan to assess telecom services and address issues faced by the consumers, the statement said.
Earlier this year, a survey conducted by the regulator found that cellular mobile operators (CMOs) had only partially complied with the PTA Quality of Service (QoS) standards during the first quarter of 2026, with none achieving full compliance across all key performance indicators (KPIs).
