Gang-rape of Azeri woman: Interim pre-arrest bail of suspect woman dismissed

LAHORE: A sessions’ court on Thursday dismissed the interim pre-arrest bail of a woman suspect in a case of alleged gang-rape of an Azeri woman.

Earlier, the investigating officer told the court that the initial investigation had found the suspect guilty of the charges against her.

She asked the court to dismiss her bail and court after hearing the police version dismissed the bail petition accordingly.

The suspect, however, could not be arrested as she had already left the court’s premises.

Separately, another sessions court granted interim pre-arrest bail to a key suspect in the same case.

The counsel stated that his client had secured an interim protective bail from the Sindh High Court and wanted to join police investigation, but there were apprehensions of his arrest.

The court allowed pre-arrest bail to the suspect till October 21 and directed him to join the investigation.
