LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday took notice of an alleged assault on a shopkeeper by a Pera officer in Rahim Yar Khan and ordered his immediate arrest.
The Chief Minister said law enforcement personnel were not above the law and could not be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
She said the government would not tolerate violent behaviour towards any citizen, stressing those officials responsible for maintaining law and order must also act within the bounds of the law.
