ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has introduced a Digital Attestation System for consular documents at its headquarters in Islamabad and liaison offices in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Gujrat, effective October 12, 2026.

According to a circular issued by the ministry on October 14, applicants seeking general and apostille attestation can now receive electronic certificates (e-Certificates) via email after completing the required process and paying the prescribed fee.

The new system will enable applicants to get their documents attested from the comfort of their homes without visiting the ministry or its liaison offices in person, except in cases where physical presence is required.

The ministry has directed its officers to encourage applicants to submit documents electronically to improve convenience, transparency and service delivery.

Applicants can access the online attestation portal at https://portal-attestation.mofa.gov.pk.
